Medical Education

Simulated Encounter with Full Code Medical

Medical Education 3.1
Objective
Provide medical students the ability to step into a realistic clinical scenario involving interviewing a simulated patient, capturing the encounter with ambient voice transcription technology, and turning it into structured documentation that ties directly into care planning and demonstrates modern electronic health record (EHR) workflows, a hands-on experience with the kind of tools and workflows they’ll actually use in practice.
Real-World Impact
This project doesn’t just replicate a care scenario, it bridges the gap between documentation training and real-world healthcare IT. It improves students' understanding of the use of FHIR, streamlines faculty review, and supports a scalable model for clinical education around documentation workflows.

Teaching Clinical Documentation with Suki and FHIR for Care Compliance

The project is a hands-on initiative blending clinical simulation, ambient transcription, evaluation of the patient encounter using AI, and structured documentation that has real-world health IT relevance. Combing the Full Code Medical simulation platform with Suki’s ambient voice technology allows students to document a simulated heart failure encounter with natural language. The transcription was then converted to FHIR JSON format and integrated into Leap of Faith’s Care Compliance Dashboard (CCD), simulating real-time clinical workflow impact.

Key Features
  • Full Code Medical simulation usage
  • Ambient voice transcription documentation using Sui
  • Generation of FHIR-compliant output
  • Use of structured data for evaluation and feedback via AI
  • Integration with the LOF Care Compliance Dashboard
