The team built a secure, FHIR-compliant application that allows patients to speak or type their medical history, which is then captured using AI voice transcription (OpenAI Whisper + IMO APIs) and translated into standardized clinical language. Through integration with Health Gorilla’s FHIR services and USCDI standards, the app enriches patient-reported data with historical records from EHRs, ensuring accuracy and completeness. All outputs — from machine-readable JSON to narrative PDF reports — are HIPAA-compliant and designed for seamless integration back into the EHR. With clinician-in-the-loop functionality, the system ensures that AI-generated content is always validated by providers, supporting safety, compliance, and trust.
